Warning: We've had recent reports of poor customer service from DVD Cloner 2 buyers. Although DVD Cloner 2 was - and still is - a great program we know that doesn't matter if you have problems running it on your machine and can't get the support needed. Due to reports of them not responding quickly and/or completely to support requests we are now recommending that new users make sure to burn a DVD with the free demo version before buying.

Note: 1Click-DVD-Copy is still the king of support and may be a safer investment.

Overall

Managing to pack in a few more features and still keep a super easy user interface, DVD Cloner 2 is a very close runner up. It is also one of the few with built-in support for CSS decryption making it simple to install.

NOTE: If you buy it right now, it is bundled with 3 bonus programs: DVD-TO-AVI, and DVD-TO-MPEG, DVD-TO-SVCD (copy to CDs that play in your DVD player).

Installation

DVD Cloner 2 was very easy to install and we did not encounter any issues.

Ease Of Use

To make DVD Cloner 2 simple to use, it is designed to copy DVDs using the most common settings. Normally, you will just put your original DVD in the drive and click 'Start'. If you only have 1 DVD drive then it will prompt you when it is done with the original and ready for a blank.

The only other button to explore is 'Setup' (hammer & wrench seen above). You have the choice to copy the "movie only", set the working directory, and shutdown when finished.

Quality

The quality of our test copies was excellent with DVD Cloner 2. Although compression was used, when viewed on a standalone DVD player on a big screen TV no loss of quality was noticed.

Support

The quality of support offered by DVD Cloner 2 has degraded in recent months. They strive to reply within 6 hours and when we first put them to the test we sent in questions in the evening and always had an answer by the next morning. However, since that time we have had several complaints that they are slow to answer and don't fully answer the questions asked. This is very frustrating if it means you have to ask again and potentially get another slow or incomplete answer. Maybe this is just "growing pains" but it is highly recommended that you get the free demo working before you buy.
