Step by Step

We cover alot of ground on this site and have tried to organize it in a way that is useful for all experience levels. Here is your Road Map to Success:

  1. If you are new to making DVD to DVD copies get familar with the terms and process using the Newbie FAQs tab.

  2. Verify that you have the right equipment. You need a Windows based PC (any version), 5 to 10 GB of free drive space and a DVD burner (also called writer). It doesn't take a powerful system to make copies. If you only have 1 DVD drive that is fine. If you only have a CD burner then you should upgrade.

  3. Pick the DVD Copy software that you want to use. See our Comparison Chart and Software Reviews. All the products will get the job done but our top 2 choices are Video Vault and 1Click DVD Copy. Video Vault does alot more than the others and we rely on its advanced features for some of the lessons in our DVD Copy Secrets Email Course. If you can afford to spend the extra $40 it is well worth it. Also, don't miss the video reviews that show you these products in use.

  4. If you will be backing up protected DVDs then you need a ripper. We recommend DVD43 which is available free from www.DVD43FreeVersion.com

  5. Blank Media. You can get started without blanks since both Video Vault and 1Click DVD Copy can save the movie to your hard drive. This allows you to get started right away and confirm everything is installed correctly. However, before you can create a copy for your standalone DVD player you will need to buy some good quality blanks (best are made in Japan).

Hope that Helps! ... and we have a favor to ask of you. Please tell us about your results and let us know what you think about our site.
