History Lesson - 321 Studios and "X Copy" Products

The now shutdown company called 321 Studios was the manufacture of "DVD X Copy Platinum" ($149), "DVD X Copy Gold" ($119) and "DVD X Copy Xpress" ($69). These products contained a built-in ripper allowing them to copy protected Hollywood movies. 321 Studios was sued in the USA by the movie industry and was forced by the courts to create a "ripper free" (RF) version of their products. Shortly later the company folded which many said was due to the legal expenses incurred.
